Amazon.com After reading this book, I guarantee that you will never visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art (or any wonderful, old cavern of a museum) without sneaking into the bathrooms to look for Claudia and her brother Jamie. They're standing on the toilets, still, hiding until the museum closes and their adventure begins. Such is the impact of timeless novels . . . they never leave us. E. L. Konigsburg won the 1967 Newbery Medal for this tale of how Claudia and her brother run away to the museum in order to teach their parents a lesson. Little do they know that mystery awaits!
Product Description Claudia knew that she could never pull off the old-fashioned kind of running away...so she decided not to run FROM somewhere, but TO somewhere. And so, after some careful planning, she and her younger brother, Jamie, escaped -- right into a mystery that made headlines!

a childhood favorite April 5, 2008 I love this book. I saw it one day in the bookstore with my 7 year old who is a good reader. I bought it for her as a gift and re-read it first. I enjoyed it again as an adult and she has enjoyed it too. A good read with enough excitement and mystery to keep you turning the pages (but nothing scary).
Such a great book! January 18, 2008 One of my childhood favorites! I recently went to the Met and just had to purchase and re-read the book!
I love this book! January 18, 2008 I think this is one of the best books I read growing up. I can't say enough good things about it. It is a must read!
Great Book! January 15, 2008 I absolutely loved this book! I am 23, and can remember reading this book over and over as a pre-teen/young adult and loving it. I currently have it in my library and re-read it every once in a while. I am definitely keeping it for my children to read, and I would recommend it to anyone!
Wonderful Classic December 30, 2007 "From the Mixed-up Files...' is one of the great books for middle school-aged children. Years ago I enjoyed reading it after my daughter recommended it. This year I gave it to my niece. Not to be missed!
