This is the best motivation and help book I've purchased in a very long time. Lets you know that you can create (and feel very good about it) what pleases "yourself". I had to get over worrying what other people thought of my work. Thank you.

This is a lovely book for someone who has little experience in painting or drawing and would like to explore the scope, options and opportunities in art. Lots of nice examples and lots of basic info for helping the reader to choose the medium that he or she would like to try.
Well put together book October 4, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great book on creativity and the process of creating. I enjoyed the author's spirit and her matter of fact approach to the process We are all born with it But we have to USE it. One does have to work at it. EVERYDAY. As the Leland explains. The book is laid out wonderfully with easy to read text and great examples of many artist's work. The binder format reminds me of a sketch book format. It's easy to leave open while doing the recommended activities. The side notes are cleverly highlighted by resembling pieces of paper stapled to the pages. Throughout the entire book Leland encourages the reader/artist to participate and inneract with the short exercises she presents in the book and most of all to have fun while doing it. A must read for those who want to bring a bit of creativity and fun to their lives.
Inspiring approach to creativity June 14, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The layout and simple design of this book make it a pleasure to read and follow. The exercises are an inspiration for anyone feeling insecure about their artistic ability and somewhat lacking in confidence. Nita Leland makes it all seem do-able and possible.
