Inspiring Craft Book for Multi-Media Want-A-Be's December 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This inspiring book is a must-have for all crafters. Even if you aren't into Collage Jewelry it is a great how to book on letting yourself go and enjoying your love of your craft. A great how-to on setting up a space for yourself, and using found objects for self expression. I go back to this book over and over again with I'm stuck or need inspiration.

This is an absolutely EXQUISITE book. Beautifully photographed and chock full of creativity. What I love the most is that Sally Jean doesn't just show you the pretty little things...she shows you how to make your own. After I finished this book, I ran right out and stocked up on soldering supplies. This is one of those rare books where you'll want to make nearly every single project, if you're a collage fan like me.

I want any art or craft book to encourage me to think beyond the designs within the book itself. This book succeeds admirably. Just thumbing through the (beautifully presented) photos inspired me to imagine other designs and applications. The author's instructions are good, but a beginner might have difficulty. Purchase a basic text on glass-cutting and soldering, and practice a bit, before you delve into these designs. However, those with some experience should have no problem executing most designs in the book. All in all, this is a beautiful book -- well worth its cost -- and one I will keep on my shelf.
Know how to solder! October 31, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
To use this book, you need to know how to solder. Apart from one small project, everything is soldered. And Alexander assumes you are already handy with it.
Apart from that, the book did give me some good ideas I could use without knowing how to solder. And the collage technique described on page 14 made for a fabulous and fun Meetup workshop!

I have wanted to learn how to make jewelry using a soldering gun, and I found this book very imformative. The magazine is in perfect condition and I am 100% happy.
